Hidaya Miliki

OOC: Just so that it is clear, we give Vanarambaion partial control over Euro field units

***************Meanwhile, at the bottom of the ocean********************

“This is E120, Admiral Price speaking. Breaking radio silence to alert all Manta Ray Attack Subs to respond to the following coordinants and be on high alert. Once there, disappear, as you have all been trained to do. The success of this mission, and the security of your nation relies on your utmost secrecy. If you are discovered, pray for your crew and scuttle your ships. If you spot any unidentified surface craft, fire at will. It’s time to fill the orphanages of Xhenga and BN. Good luck, and good night. Signing off.”

*******************Fleets at rendevous point***********************

“E007, formation established, awaiting your command.”

“Roger that. Everyone wave to our allies off the port bow.”

“Akiiryu, Vanarambaion, other commanders, we await your battle plans. Europtima reporting for duty.”

*******************Europtimitian field units*************************

“Sir! We have orders to move out!”

“Excellent. Pack up, take what you need Outland Snipers. Leave nothing behind. The scum scavengers of TCN need not be blessed with our trash. We’re rejoining our boys. This is as “going home” as it gets. Prepare for war.”

*******************In his majesty’s castle in Hrothgar******************

“Eexxcceelleenntt. Never disregard Europtima. We are the X factor.”

Onboard the HIS_Imperial Sovereign_ , to the east of Northern Voobaha, Admiral Heraclius had gathered the senior officers from the army units and the Naval Guard units under his command, and they were discussing the best steps to take to land in Hidaya Miliki.

?Our most direct route would take us right to Hidaya, I mean, Imperial Miliki. But it would also take us directly into the guns of both the Arch-Imperium?s fleet, and Byzantium Nova. As you could imagine, our relatively small fleet would be rather quickly taken apart.? He looked around at the assortment of naval and ground officers. ?We must find an alternative. And fairly quickly.?

All the men looked at the map. It was still a long way to Imperial Miliki, and most routes would take them too close to the might of Xheng?s armies for anyone?s comfort. A landing in an adjacent plot would be preferable, but which one?

?Sir,? spoke the Imperial Guard Brigadier. ?I?d suggest landing in plot 114, and making that our temporary base camp. We could then use that as spring board, as it were, to send ?aggressive patrols? against the Xheng forces in Hidaya Miliki.?

The Admiral nodded. ?That would be useful. But it doesn?t really give us the opportunity to achieve either our two primary objectives, or our secondary one.?

Two? All of the officers in the room, bar the commanders of the two ground divisions, the Naval Guard division and Heraclius himself weren?t aware of anything other than one primary objective, to drive the Xheng forces out of Hidaya Miliki. No one mentioned anything, though.

?It does, sir. Our use of aggressive patrols could make the sustenance of the Xheng forces in Hidaya Miliki untenable. Considering the ?Imperial Miliki? thing, we could declare the area around our base the location of the Protectorate. Sort of a government-in-exile situation.?

Heraclius considered this. ?It?s acceptable. Not really what we?re aiming for, but we could always move the Protectorate government into Hidaya Miliki once Xheng has been kicked out. Call this place Northern Imperial Miliki, or something. We can inform the Protopansebastoshyperatus once we?ve properly secured.?

All of the assembled officers agreed.

?Ok, these are the orders as it stands. The People?s Guard division will be deployed first, securing the area. Following them, the second Division will disembark, and then the Naval Guard units. All the shipping will provide whatever cover it can.?

The location of the Republic of Northern Imperial Miliki, the temporary Imperial protectorate and base for the Tagmatine forces

OOC: Please note. All this talk has taken place aboard a Tagmatine ship, so it is all unknown IC. Troop movements could be found out by the use of spy planes, agents, radar or something similar.

***Statement***

Given the decision of the Arch Imperium to treat any dead with honor, we shall conduct the same.

The Ide Jiman Marine HQ, Kaeju, Rosario Island…

This island was on high alert. Most of the population were military - and now war had been declared, the first move was to be made.

Over 2000 marines already, were en-route to the Konstantinos Space Centre by rail from Kaeju. Back in Kaeju itself, the island’s two seaborne assault squadrons were preparing to sail for Byzantine waters.

The Khamseen Archipelago…

Tinian and Nanchang were on high alert. These bases were on the frontline of Ide Jima’s navy in the southern sea, and Byzantine naval assault would be likely. Already, 2 carrier battlegroups were travelling from Serekan and a commerce raiding squadron was being established.

The 3 Carrier Battlegroups based in Nanchang and Khirsuit already were moving out to sea, towards the Byzantine coast.

Vulcan…

Plans to withdraw were already underway, even with reinforcements, it would be impossible to fend off Byzantine/Arch-Imperium attacks. Several troops carrying BCI Barbarian aircraft had already evacuated 700 marines, whilst a further 800 army troops set about wiring explosives over all documents and computers. Any intel on the island was destroyed.

The Coast of Ex-TCN…

The Ide Jiman Army Group: South was moving in towards the Europtima/Xheng border. This group - one of the largest, was preparing to initiate offensive operations against arch-imperium forces…

Nanchang Airbase…

The three SAC B-22M3 ‘Bluefire’ bombers rolled out on to the tarmac. Within ten minutes, the gigantic bombers were airborne - and headed out to sea, across the mud flats and past the port - over the ocean ahead.

The bombers were joined by 12 K-14, ‘Fantan 2’ attack fighters as they left Ide Jiman airspace. The target was, the town of Kalkhedon in Byzantium Nova - although it was not a primarily military target, this daring raid would show the enemies that the Federal Republic was serious about this war…

4 hours later,

The air armada were fast approaching Kalkhedon. The bombers opened their massive bays. Inside, each were 8 SAC-KV19 ‘Boomslang’ cruise missiles (shorter range versions of that one I fired at Tag) - some of the most up to date weapons in the Ide Jiman Airforce inventory. One by one, the missiles were let off at the town before the group wheeled round to head back to Nanchang…

OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE OF THE IMPERIAL GOVERNMENT OF RHOMANOI

It is with great sadness that the Imperial government of Rhomanoi must now declare war against the Xheng Imperium, after their recent refusal to disclose vital information regarding an attack on our aid ship, the SS Maid of Mercy. We consider this action to be a legal casus belli, and our Senate has voted to grant the Imperial Government full rights to declare and prosecute the war, with full regard to the civil liberties of our people and those of Hidaya Miliki.

In declaring war, we are only aiming to attack, and defeat, the Xheng Imperium, and we will prosecute this war to the fullest extent of our abilities, regardless of cost in lives or money or property. The cause of justice and peace far out ranks in worth that of even the most esteemed human life, and we are not afraid of dying for those causes.

We have no quarrel with the people and government of Byzantium Nova, and we will actively seek to avoid combat with them in all circumstances - though we will act in self-defence against their forces should the need arise. Our quarrel is first and foremost with the despotic and expansionist clique of warlords who control the Xheng Imperium.

We will not shy from this action, and we will fight to win.

Long live Rhomanoi!

To: All nations

From: Vanarambaion

We are annexing Reaver Archipelago (plot 18) for defensive and security reasons and for use as a training ground pursuant to the international threat posed by the barbarians of Xheng.

Admiral Rhonvan stood on the deck of HMS Libryn, flagship of the re-activated Southern Fleet, which had long been split up patrolling around the Southern Hemisphere of Europa. His aide, Commander Aethan Mur, was getting impatient.

“What are we waiting for, Admiral?”

“There’s one more unit that’s late arriving from off the coast of Moon City, Commander. I read the report at the staff meeting earlier, you know this information.”

“But sir, they’re Reavers. Do we really need them?”

Admiral Rhonvan glared sharply at the Commander. “They have the fastest ships and are the most fearless fighters in the Expeditionary fleet. We should be glad that they’ve been assigned to this command, commander.”

“But sir, they’re…”

Before the Commander could finish his statement, the Admiral’s attention was drawn by something behind him. Turning to find out what the Admiral saw, Commader Mur saw the approaching Reavers. No one could have known that they were any different from any other ship at this distance, but the Southern Fleet had been employed in fighting them in the Roavian War several years ago, and the sight of the ships now known as Reaver ships was all-too-well known by the veterans. The Reavers had been Roavian mercenaries in that war, and now, with the recent annexation of their adopted island, they fought alongside their former enemies.

As the ships drew closer, the crew recognized the ships and stopped their work. As they watched, the distinctive Reaver marks became visible. The otherwise normal-looking ship was streaked with red marks, as if someone had been dragged, bleeding, all over the deck. This possibility was made more likely by the sight of a dozen or so skeletons lashed to the front of the hull, an ominous sight to the superstitious sailors. Childhood stories of terrible death-ships and barbarian attacks were recounted in half-whispers as the ships glided slowly by. When they drew close, the Vanarambaion admiral could see the reason the Reavers were so unpredictable. At the expense of living space and other human comforts, the Reaver ships were modified for speed and maneuverability. Turning, he excused himself to his cabin. He’d have to put these ships on the front line. No sense having them sit around behind them, causing trouble…

***DELTA TRANMISSION FREQUENCY – IMPORTANT***

To: Fleet Admiral Flyman, Adapton Expeditionary Forces; Currently Moored in Baratar Harbor

From: Port Nain Imperial Military Complex

The storm has not calmed down and has gotten worse and our long-range sensors indicate that the storm is fastly approching the shores of Port Nain and has now been increased from a tropical storm to a full-blown hurricane, catagory 3 and rapidly getting faster and more deadly by the hour. We heavly suggest that you remain in port until this blows over otherwise, you and your ships may not all make it through the storm alive.

Military Headquarters, under the orders of the Emperor have called back all Bhali naval ships to Yrai Naval Yard to remain until tomorrow. All people anywhere within 25 miles of the shore have been evacuated to avoid getting caught in the incoming storm.

The first Tagmatine troops jumped into the shallow, crystal-clear from the landing craft and ran up onto the golden sands. It would have been a paradise, had there not there been a large flotilla of warships in the bay and fighter aircraft roaring over head. The first infantry units quickly assembled on the dune line, and then set out to capture the nearest town, which stood at the mouth of the large river. The town was going to be re-named Photium, after the new ruler of the area, Protopansebastoshyperatus Tbamaba. The town had the benefit on being in a naturally defendable position, a deep port in the river mouth, and an airfield capable of taking fairly large aeroplanes. The populace looked gloomily out of their windows at the People?s Guardsmen gathered about the town, not sure what to make of their new armed forces.

The huge Basileus class battleship, HIS Commodus II sat in the deep sea port, dominating the river mouth. It subjected any vessels coming down the river to a boarding, to make sure there were no ?hostiles? on board. Any suspect shipping was escorted into the port for a much thorough inspection. The carrier, HIS Imperial Sovereign was further out, but still sending aircraft on patrols to assess the lie of the land. The river appeared to go back a long way, and was deep enough to take a substantial vessel for a lot of it. This could be used in any operations against the Arch-Imperium. of course, nothing bigger than a destroyer could make the trip, but anything would be a good help in any future operations.

The Scipiian 1st Battle fleet has set sail from New Antwerp to join the Scipiiian 3rd Battle fleet in the bay of Scipii. Their combined power should hold any Xheng incursions at bay.

The Fleet Marshal of R.A.N. Northern Fleet smiled as the troopsships that had accompanied his fleet from Akiiryu moved into Scipii’s Norfolk Bay. Originally intended for Hidaya Miliki the three regiments (two infantry and one armoured)

about to land would further help shore the Scipiian boarder.

He signalled to his helmsmen as the last ship and its destroyer escort entered the habour. The Fleet sounded its horns in respect to the Scipiian People and its own troops before heading out to sea and then south where it would provide support to the Tagmatine Forces.

The Europtima/TCN border…

The Ide Jiman motorised column reached a checkpoint, it was the first of large forces being deployed to the area - although most would be in the defensive role.

As the first hlaftrack came level with the border guard’s checkpoint the sergeant onboard clambered down and gave a salute before adressing the border guard…

“Recon party IV of the 3rd Khamseen Motor Rifle division, I assume we are the first Ide Jiman forces in the region?”

“We await your confirmation to pass”

“ah, this damn storm, any word from the 16th?”

“yeah, the strom clipped them, and several escorts were damaged, but thats it, there heading in to port as we speek.”

“thank God, we’ll just have to stay moored here for a while, we’ll wait till the Bhali Fleet is rady, and we’ll head out.”

“aye sir.”

Flyman then tured to the other branch commanders.

“care for some tea while we wait?”

The first patrol up the river consisted of two Psilus light frigates, HIS Photius and HIS Theodore. It was hoped that they would discover how far the river went into the area surronding Xheng, and then the Tagmatine forces would be able to use this route to assualt the north-eastern borders of the Arch-Imperium, possibly adopting a “scorched-earth” policy as they went.

Commanders of the frigates, and the handful of Naval Guardsmen on board them, were ever watchful, as the deep sides of the gorge were perfect ambush territory. Pictures of the operation were being sent back to the main base in Photium, so that the main force knew the territory that they were going to be operating in.

As he sat down for his evening meal, Warlord Tinsman scanned his military reports…

Navy Report:

Attack Subs in place. Radio silence unbroken. Weapons loaded and crew at battle stations. Enemy is unaware or prescence. Harbors are officially sealed. No shots fired.

Surface fleets en route with Vanarambaion forces. Pace- High. Alert- Medium. Weapons- some loaded

Air Force Report:

Bombers and fighters on carriers. Routine drills postponed. En route

Army Report:

Moving by night, long collumns. Scorched earth policy. Pace- Strenuous. Rations- Filling. One dissenting native executed. Weapons silenced and loaded.

For whom the bell tolls! Time marches on, on, on…

Field-Marshal O?Brian surveys the boarder of Xheng, through his binoculars. He turns to his aid ?No sign of hostile forces, what of our re-enforcements?? ?IV Corps are re-enforcing General Calms 3rd Corp on the north bank of the Southern River while the Vanguard of V Corps have just established contact with X Corp, sir?

?Good? came his reply. ?Any hostile actions against the Navy of SAF??

?None sir?

?What are the Xheng up too??

It was daybreak of the third day and the storm was clearing up rapidly. “Commander, the weather is letting up, should I inform the Adapton Expedition?” The commander got up from his desk, “Yes tell Fleet Admiral Flyman that he may proceed, the Bhali Navy shall escort the Adapton Fleet through the South Sea.”

“Yes Commander,” repiled the Sargent and went to the commucations complex to forward the following transmission:

***DELTA TRANSMISSION – IMPORTANT***

To: Fleet Admiral Flyman, Adapton Expeditionary Forces

From: Baratar Naval Command

—WEATHER CLEARING UP – CODE GREEN TO PROCEED – BHALI NAVY TO ASSIST IN CONVOY TO XHENG — Slayer-Class Frigates: Hror, Sirekur and Tollus; TO MEET UP WITH ADAPTON FORCES EAST OF SAN MATAR – GOOD LUCK AND ALL BLESSINGS FROM EMPEROR KHAN—

***END TRANSMISSION***

Fleet Admiral Flyman had just finished briefing the other 2 generals on the information he had just received from the Bhali navy.

“Ok lads, their accompanying us to Xheng, 3 frigates. Quite nice of them. And now the 16th had rendezvoused with us we can continue as one large fleet.”

Flyman then turned to Admiral Cruise, 2nd in command of the naval forces.

“ok Cruise, I want the 3 Marcus Battleships, and the Bruticus Dreadnoughts will take the front, we’re in combat formation now, all transports and carriers in the centre, along with the Desimus frigates, the Fustians, Vestians and Sanctum II’s will take the edges, and all Anti-Submarine vessels are to be also around the edge, and all sonar subs are to be deployed, get ready for war lads.”

several JSF naval fighters took off, alongside 3 Vityaz aircraft. and the whole port began to move, as the large ships began to slumber out of port and toward the Bhali South Sea.

it had been also announced that a 3rd Brigade was on its way to the area, the 4th Pioneers Brigade, which consisted of mainly engineers, and infantry, a long term unit. if these lads were heading Xhengs way, then that meant the Fed was planning on a long haul stay.

The fact that this war was based off notions of Imperialism, we find it striking that your government now annexes sovereign territory. If forces are not removed, we will consider removing them for you, and then instating a sovereign, non Vanar Government, and restore order to the already ravaged region. We suggest you pull your forces out immediately.
