The Sevrunian Rebellion

The marines moved across the lands and made it to the beacon, and went to various waypoints as ordered. Where they were going, they didn’t know, but they saw a met various other detachments along the way, all heading in the same direction…

Hightened state of alert

General Waldburg, Chief of Staff, set the alert status of the Republic to “hightened” yesterday. He explained this “due to military trainings in Niederoesterreich and a high tension in the region of the tagmatine colony. Also, the possible involvement of the major european power Vanarambaion makes this situation critical.”

President Barschel critized the measure as “unnecessary”, but did not overrule it. Opposition leader von Kluge supported Waldburg’s decision.

“Hightened alert” means, that all defensive units in Tamurin, especially Naval Ship- and Aircraft-Interceptors and Air Force Interceptors will patrol the borders constantly.

General Waldburg also ordered reconnaissance flights over international waters and training missions of the bomber squadrons.

It is not our fault if your military communications corp is incompetent.

ooc: Careful, even if we are enemies, that was still a bit of a cheap shot .

In Serekan…

“Premier Crane sir, we have a message from Vanarambaion, for some reason, which I’m not quite sure of, they seem to think they can police the world”.

Crane:It appears that the bloated Vanarambaion pigs have a very basic understanding of the way the Ide Jiman military works.

“Sir?”

Crane: The militia and stromtroopers do not operate as an army. They wage guerilla war. When on foreign soil, the uniform they wear bears no mark of alliegance, they will have no way of proving that those troops are ours.

“Better news now, a Ranger unit has reached a rebel position, encoded messages are coming back, we are just waiting for Sevrus or another important rebel to show up so that we can contact them”.

Crane: Excellent, maybe now we can focus on aiding these rebel forces now. What news from Northwatch?

“They are still within the ultimatum, they can stay until this evening. Heavily defended siege weapons are in place on Issyk ridge, and our airforce is flying over low, to pressure them”.

Crane: This isn’t going to work, send them a new message…

We can see that you wish to stay in Northwatch, but we have come up with a more agreeable deal. If your forces leave Northwatch, Ide Jima will not… we repeat not move forces into Sevrun. We hope this deal would be more agreeable, if you need time to think about this, you have 1 week.

President Crane, the People’s Republic of Ide Jima.

OOC: I had originally written worse…

ooc: I decide what the weaknesses of my armed forces are. I was only saying that it isn’t the place of another nation to do it for me. That’s all.

OOC: Calm down there tiger. The comment was made IC by the SPA government in response to the Ide Jiman’s comment about SPA listening in on Ide Jiman broadcasts. It boils down to a denial - we weren’t listening on purpose/going out of our way to spy on you, rather your broadcasts were just too hard to miss. Believe me, in the 1960s troops movements of the size you are talking about and the radio traffic that accompanied them would have been rather hard even for the casually interested observer to to miss, and Akiiryu isn’t just casually interested! Furthermore, I might point out that radio traffic might not have been the source of the information and was only being used as a cover. At the end of the day I wasn’t deciding anything about your armed forces.

Lieutenant General Marshfield put down the telephone after recieving another call from the colonel of the Northwatch Garrison. In the face of international pressure on Ide Jima, the Communists had been forced to back down. They said that no troops were to cross into the Imperial Colony, but Marshfield doubted that in the extreme. However, the command to withdraw from Northwatch had been issued. But, as he knew the Communists to be liars, he had then used the battalions that were stationed across the border to be re-deployed in patrolling the same divide, and to have it strengthed.

The Foriegn Minister had also been watching all of the cross-Europan posturing over the movement of Ide Jiman forces into the lands to the south of Sevrun. He had been surpised about how quickly nations against the Imperial control of Sevrun had quickly swung in favour of removing the Communist forces from the area, even if it meant supporting Tagmatium. He would have to expliot this further, perhaps showing the rebels as pro-Communist and the occupation as a much-needed buffer-state against the expansion of Communism into the north of Europa. In fact, that was a brilliant idea. He would get his office right onto it.

A message sent to all the embassies in Tagmatica, except the Ide Jiman one.

Nations of Europa,

In recent days you have witnessed the movement by the Communist menace in to the Unoccupied Territories south of the Imperial Colony of Sevrun, under the pretext of aiding the insurrgency against legitimate Tagmatine rule. In fact, it is not to aid the rebels in setting up an independent state, free of outside influence, but to create a Communist dependecy, a puppet to Serekan control. To make sure the stain of Communism does blot out precious democracy and freedom in Europa, steps must be undertaken to support the Tagmatine rule of Sevrun. Tagmatium ensures that freedom remains for the Sevrunians, no matter what the Communist-sponsored rebels say otherwise. These fools are undermining freedom, and by supporting them, other nations are aiding the advance of dictatorship. Nations of Europa, we must stand shoulder-to-shoulder in defiance of this threat. You must support Tagmatium!

The ambassador looked at the emperor and smiled, as only a Akiiryan could. The Tattoos on his face made it hard for those in the room to work out where it was smile of friendship or something more sinister.

“Your Imperial Majesty, The Sublime Principate has no wish to allow Ide Jima to extend its borders or to spread the infection of communism across Europa. However, at the moment the troubles in Sevurn are playing into Crane’s hands. We have it on good authority that Ide Jima commando units might already be operating in Sevrun, attempting to make contact with the Sevrun nationalists. If they were to form an alliance the whole region could be destablised. Might I offer a suggestion?”

The emperor nodded.

"Start talks with the nationalists. Offer them home rule now and a path to full independence in the near future. Do so based on the proviso they ally themselves with you against communism. This is truly the best path to follow for both you and the nationalists. The Holy Empire can extract itself from Sevurn with honour knowing that its hasn’t left the colony in the hands of a communist leaning party, while the nationalists will be given time to build the inferstructure they need to stop the Ide Jimans from attempting to annex, or worse, Sevurnese territory. Best of all you will end a war neither side seems capable of winning. You will be remembered as a peacemaker and a statesman your majesty, that is a powerful legacy. If you chose this path the Prince has advised me to tell you that the

Sublime Prinicpate is willing to offer itself as an intermedary between you and the nationalists."

re: Many thanks.

You have made a wise decision. Due to this potential civil war in Europa has been averted. We wish to inform you that there are Ide Jiman ranger cells operating in Sevrun, but they have been ordered to get out as quietly as they got in.

Crane turned to Marshal Chang…

Crane: Well? What do we do now?

Chang: We annex those lands. Our geographical survey has found that we have more than enough uranium to fuel our nuclear program, getting stuck into a war in Sevrun would be pointless.

Crane:Do go on…

Chang: One problem is the lack of Bauxite reserves. The area around Northwatch appears to be rich in them. I suggest we make those lands part of Ide Jima.

Crane: The natives will object…

Chang: They may feel free to object. Only if they resist will we have to do something about it.

Crane: (uneasily) Very well, I’ll leave it up to you as to what forces to move in… give this last message to the rebels to my secretary on the way out…

Due to the international phobia of Communism we are going to withdraw all forces. We do however wish to aid you by giving you both weapons and financial aid. Your forces can feel free to find sanctuary in Ide Jima if need be.

Best of luck,

The People’s Republic of Ide Jima

“Anything, Konig?” Marshfield asked as he turned to look at the man.

“Well, sir, we got a rebel.” Konig, although he stood stiffly to attention, was damned pleased with himself. This was the first major break through since the destruction of the last insurrection. It could be all over in a few months, just like last time.

“This may prove the best break through yet. We need that bastard Sevrus this time. Where did you capture him?”

"Outside the village of New Kontos on the eastern border. Bit of a suprise. He attempted to recruit some of the Colonial Brigade who were home on leave. They knocked him about abit, though. "

Marshfield looked annoyed. “Try to keep your men in line. The last thing we want is the resolve of our best lead steeled against any methods we use. Have you taken him into interrigotion yet?”

Sanders looked up at the two soldiers guarding him, and swore quietly to himself. He placed a finger on the swollen bruise that was his left eye, and cursed again. How was he to know that two of his oldest friends were now damned traitors to the freedom of Sevrun. Well, New Kontos were going to have pay back, the rest of his cell knew where he was supposed to be. Taking of cells…

“You can’t keep me here without charge, I want to see my lawyer.”

One of the guardsmen stepped forward, and leaned towards him, a nasty smirk on his face.

“You’re lucky that you’re still alive, traitor. Or maybe not. Depends how they want to get the information out of you.”

“My will is to the Cause. It won’t be broken by Imperial lapdog scum like you.”

“We’ll see, we’ll see.” The soldier said as he turned, before bringing his gun round, and knocking the rebel out cold.

OOC: sorry i haven’t posted in a while. Can someone (ie Tag ) PM me with orders or summat. Karthenia still supports its ally the Holy Empire

*Press Conference at the Senate*

“…Yes, we were situated near the Sevrun coast, but after a revote in the council, we cannot proceed with our military ventures.”

“What was being planned?”

“At this time, we cannot say more…”

Commander Raider stood on deck, unhappy. They were ready to show the world something, and now were being pulled back. Stupid politicians…, he thought, as this wing of the fleet moved back out to sea… We’ll see….

((Bah, I’m sorry I’ve been holding this up. I’ll try to post something soon but with a combination of illness and major housecleaning, I haven’t had that much time lately.))

The cell door opened, leaving Sanders blinking helplessly in the light streaming in from the corridor outside. Once his eyes adjusted to the brightness, he saw the usual guards standing there, as well as two new men, one of whom he recognised from the intelligence the freedom fighters had gathered as a colonel called Brightwater. The second man was a young looking doctor, dressed in a white coat and with a large leather bag. The two guards grabbed the rebel, and hauled him to his feet.

“Good morning, Mr. Sanders. This is Doctor Numerian. Fresh out of the Tagmatine Intelligence Service training. He’s going to make sure you co-operate more fully in our requests for information.” The colonel lent away from the rebel, and moved into a corner of the room. Sanders looked over to the doctor, who was already fitting a surgical mask over his face. The tow guardsmen, at the instructions of the doctor, tied the rebel soldier to the bed and stood by the door. The doctor lent over to Sanders, and whispered something in his ear, and then got on with his work.

(A general broadcast, using several scraped-together means of electronic mass-communication, i.e. pirate radio feeds in foreign countries and ‘loaned’ commsats, few and far between in the era, but still there, yes?..

And a further note: Going back on the aforementioned history of the Mongol-Swedes, no officially recognized government exists as of yet, thus the Mongol-Swedes are a ‘ghost nation’, if you will. C and C: Generals players will do well to utilize the GLA’s organizational structure as a guide for interacting with the Mongol-Swedes, otherwise, a non-religious Al-Qaeda mindset will suffice, although I find their strategies…inefficient.)

Freedom Fighters of Sevrun, their comrades, backers, and all supporters of The Rights of The People!

The Socialist Tribal Alliance of the Mongol-Swedes hears your cry for unity against the imperialist menace encroaching upon the masses, and we will answer it, with our declaration of full support for the People’s forces in Sevrun and elsewhere across Europa!

We dedicate ourselves, on our honour, to stand and fight with you, for the freedom of your peoples and the freedom of all peoples.

Remain strong! Your pool of allies is growing and will continue to grow as the People arise and awaken to the Cause.

*It was a quiet morning deep beneath the oceans, as about 20 retro-fitted Unterseeboots, pirated by the Mongol-Swede freedom fighters two decades before, headed for the shores of the land known as ‘Sevrun’. Each vessel full of grizzled veterans from the Great Liberation from the Zilicon CorpoNation that had held a terrible vice around the neck of the Tribelands, eager and ready to come to the aid of what they recognized as their fellow freedom fighters.

Each vessel carried as many small arms and anti-armor weaponry as each could, with a good three companies between the covert fleet of diesel subs. These weapons were what won their liberation against the ‘superior’ American forces, and they were confident that they could easily do it again to any other nation who dared to interfere in what they viewed as the legitimate struggle for independence they were about to take part in.

They presently were about 300 miles off the coast of Sevrun(west from where the Coringthon Shipyard is now) and getting anxious. Had the struggle already ended? They were detecting alot of vessels moving about in all directions, but dared not to reveal their presence. They’d already had to set down on the ocean floor more than 40 or 50 times to avoid sonar detection.*
